Never Apologize for Bucking the Establishment
Today was supposed to be Kevin McCarthy’s coronation as Speaker of the House, but a vocal minority of MAGA Republicans had other ideas.
After three failed attempts to elect a Speaker, the House has officially adjourned until noon tomorrow.
Though McCarthy was President Trump’s preferred candidate, a rift is growing being Trump and the base on the future of GOP leadership. This divide isn’t contained just to the office of Speaker. Ronna McDaniel is hopefully on her way out as chair of the RNC after years of weak, ineffective leadership. Though I came out and endorsed Trump early, and still support him 100%, it’s important we push ALL of our politicians to uphold America First principles and reject the establishment in all its many forms. Iron sharpens iron. We must push forward and be aggressive.
We should never apologize or allow ourselves to be shamed for bucking the establishment and pushing for CHANGE in DC.
We need WARRIOR CONSERVATIVES at all levels of government. As as wise man (me) said on Twitter:
Remember that years ago Kevin McCarthy said that he believed Trump was paid by Putin.
McCarthy has tried act more MAGA since then, but it’s very obvious that he’s still an establishment “Republican” through and through. He promised his first act as Speaker would be to read the Constitution on the floor, as though that would do anything to help advance our interests. He’s also threatened in the past few days to strip anyone that didn’t vote for him from their committee assignments as punishment.
These are not the actions of a leader committed to actually fighting for our interests against the Deep State.
Matt Gaetz, leader of the movement to keep McCarthy from becoming Speaker, summed it up perfectly:
“If you want to drain the swamp, you can’t put the biggest alligator in charge of the exercise.”
These brave Republicans are fighting for their country and I applaud them. It seems like they might be successful in keeping McCarthy from winning. Time will tell, but we can’t shame them for trying. We always whine about how we wish we elected fighters that would stand up to the swamp and do the hard thing, and it’s very telling to see how much backlash there is now that a few vocal patriots are actually pushing for a government that will FIGHT instead of FAKE IT.
We’ve had enough fake opposition.
It appears even President Trump understands McCarthy might not make it.
It’s time for a change.
We can’t shy away from a fight because it’s messy. Or hard. We have to fight for our interests or we won’t survive as a movement!
So keep an eye on the House and keep an eye on the fight for our party’s leadership positions. These positions matter!
The swamp must be drained no matter the cost!!
