Well friends, Election Day has come and gone and we still don’t know which party controls Congress. It’s been hard to fully wrap my head around the ramifications of this election and try to find some key takeaways because everything is still so up in the air while we watch Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia. These elections will ultimately control the balance of power and have big impacts on the overall performance of our movement.
One thing is clear: The American transition from Election “Day” to Election “Week” and perhaps now Election “Month” is unacceptable.
The fact that there are places in America that can’t turn in vote counts timely and accurately is a disgrace. Voters on EVERY side of the isle should reject this practice and demand the election system in America be fixed. Even if everything is above reproach (unlikely) this gives the appearance that FRAUD is happening and this does nothing to quiet those of us worried about the election integrity.
Regardless of the ultimate outcome of these races, the process must be corrected if we can hope to move forward as a Nation. The State of Florida can count millions of votes over the course of a couple hours. Why are we going to be waiting a week for a few hundred thousand votes out of Arizona? There is no reasonable explanation that can be offered. It is not incompetence. They are doing it on purpose.

This is shameful and opens the door for bad things to happen. We’ve got to do better.
I’m working to compile a few thoughts on what we know so far about this election and what it says about an array of different things across the country. It’s going to take time but I want to make sure I give everything the study time it deserves. There are a lot of surface level reactions floating around, but there are some trends in the data that a few are missing that I’m anxious to study deeper.
Yes, the GOP underperformed expectations. Yet there are still a lot of things to celebrate and build upon for the future that signal that our movement is stronger than ever. So have faith, and be proud of the work you did in 2022. Also understand that in order for us to really WIN and take control of our Country we’re going to have to do even more in 2024 and beyond.
Elections are never finish lines.
The real work begins when the election ends. The real work never stops. No matter what, we have to soldier forward and face the challenges of the day. One of the biggest problems with politics today is that so much effort and money is spent on elections and we forget we’ve got to actually push our policies into reality once we’re given power.
The fight never stops.
So as we watch and wait for Election Month to be over, I hope you’ll feel proud of where we are, even if it could have been better.
This isn’t the end, it is only the beginning!
(but it better be the end of vote counting season soon!!!)
